SADD Club
SADD club’s main goal is to protect Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD). “SADD strives to build safer communities by spreading different messages about things like drug abuse, mental health, and distracted driving,” said President of SADD, Jaylen Marrero.
This club is perfect for students who want to give back to the community even if the recipients are their own age.
SADD is a mainly student run organization which means students take charge in leadership positions to better the school environment.
“I am the president of Cape Coral High School’s chapter of SADD and with this I run meetings and prepare different events and other things to spread SADD’s goals,” said Marrero. Marrero’s work is an example of how interested students can give back to their community in rewarding ways.
Dianna Quay established that Cape Coral High School needed this club back in 2000 and the club has continued to carry the work to this school year.
“I really do enjoy being a part of SADD because it revolves around so many amazing goals and stands for things that I personally agree with and will stand by,” said Marrero.
The club’s significance lies in the abundance of students the club has saved. If students want to be a part of this impact they are strongly encouraged to interact with this club.
SADD members report to room 113 on every second and fourth Friday of the month. Members will arrive after school and stay until 2:30. Students who want to learn more the Google classroom code is 5lcjnik and SADD club’s Instagram is @cchs_sadd.
