The Slipaway food truck park is the newest addition to the Cape Coral community, and it’s the perfect place to make memories with family and friends that will last a lifetime.
Slipaway officially opened to the public on July 5th, with the grand opening taking place on the Fourth of July. It was a massive success, and its location on Cape Coral Parkway only boosted its customer base, as Red White and Boom brought hundreds to Downtown Cape Coral.
There are a total of ten food trucks housed at Slipaway, with a variety of cultures and foods represented. From Philadelphia Cheesesteaks to pulled pork, there is a type of food for all taste buds.
Upon entrance to the park, one is greeted by scenery that could only be described as picturesque. It feels like stepping out of Cape Coral and into an island getaway, providing an oasis from the hustle and bustle of our busy city.
Admission into the park is free; one only has to pay for the food or drinks that they purchase. The staff is very hospitable and helpful, and there are workers by the entrance to assist you in your every need.
There are a variety of relaxing activities to partake in. Slipaway features a bar, comfortable couches with fans, lawn games such as cornhole, and a beautiful view of the water underneath the Veterans Bridge.
Slipaway also contains a little souvenir shop that’s stocked with drinks, shirts, hats, and other mementos to take from the outing. Whether you’re a tourist or a local, Slipaway is an enjoyable day out.
On top of that, Slipaway is also a marina. There are docks alongside the bar for venturing boats to stop and enjoy a meal. It is very accessible and easy to grab the food and go, rather than risking convenience by going back home to grab lunch.
To allow the attendants to walk around while waiting for their food, Slipaway provides beeping devices that are given to the customer upon ordering. Once the food is ready, the device buzzes, and the customer is free to pick up their meal.
The food is exquisite, guaranteed to fill any craving and leave your stomach feeling satisfied. The trucks that reside there are: Smokestream BBQ, Crooked Cow Creamery, Yunta Cuban, Gigi’s Gourmet, Addison’s On the Go, Philly Junction Express, Not Yo Mama’s Tacos, Chop it up Sandwiches, The Lobster Chef, and The Greek Spot.
This provides an opportunity for small food truck businesses to gain exposure and make extra money, as they are parked there all day, every day.
Slipaway offers live music, too. Different artists from around the city perform their songs on a little makeshift stage by the entrance, which only adds to the relaxing atmosphere and provides a sort of ambience for guests.
All in all, Slipaway is the perfect place to experience a day out, and residents or tourists of Cape Coral should stop by for a fun day with the family. It’s affordable and relaxing, perfect for both adults and children.
