One of the most important factors into having a perfect warmup session is having the perfect playlist. In a world with millions of tracks, it may be hard to find the right set of songs to jam to while you are in the zone. If you struggle to form the perfect tracklist, here are some songs you can potentially build a playlist around to make you lock in.
To begin the playlist, you need a track that can get you into the zone. Modus by Joji is the perfect song. It starts off slow but eventually gets to a solid hip-hop beat, getting the mind and soul into an energized state from a notion of interlude.
In general, Joji is a great artist to wrap your playlist around. His hip-hop and upbeat style music keeps the blood pumping and motivates you into completing another rep. Songs such as Test Drive, Window, and Night Rider are the ideal tracks to play while working out.
On the same note as hip-hop, make sure to add some of the Weeknd into the mix. More specifically, add some music from his album Beauty Behind the Madness. The Hills, In the Night, and Prisoner are personal favorites that I tend to listen to whenever I workout. The mixture of bass and high-hats rumble throughout your body and push you to your limits.
After a session of pure hip-hop, it is time to add some early 2010s music, better known as “white girl” music. Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are a flawless combination that everyone needs to try. Even if it isn’t your taste in music, everyone needs a moment where they can release energy and dance at any given moment.
When it is time to lock back in, put on some phonk. Songs like Live Another Day by Kordhell and Sahara by Hensonn are catchy and motivational. Phonk in general gets the mind in a dialed state and limits distractions.
Next, add some rap. Eminem and Kanye West have some hits. With Eminem, you can’t go wrong with Lose Yourself; with Kanye, All of the Lights make you feel like the main character.
If you want to hit some PRs, you are going to need some rock/metal. Metallica gets the job done. Enter Sandman, Seek and Destroy, and Master of Puppets are all songs that are loud and drain the brain of distraction.
If motivation and wisdom drives you, listen to Dawn FM by the Weeknd. As mentioned prior, the Weeknd’s music makes sure you are always in the zone. The tiny interludes and the tracks with Jim Carrey provide the motivation one needs to push themselves to their best versions of themselves.
While a playlist may not be important to some, it is important to keep yourself driven and having a playlist with some of these songs is the number one step to achieving the perfect warm up.
