College is starting soon and there are a multitude of seniors facing anxiety and stress on how they will be able to afford college tuition. So, the senior class voiced their concerns to Cape Coral High School Principal, Ryan Jackson. He decided to hold a meeting with Cape High staff to work out a plan on how to help these seniors with their college tuitions.
They all helped create a fundraising event that they marketed through WINK news on channel 11 and even pitched in themselves which raised a total of 1 million dollars. The next step was figuring out who all of this money was going to go to. They decided to hold a farting competition and whoever pulled the loudest fart would win the 1 million dollars.
The contest was held in the stairs next to the cafeteria and the ones next to the gym due to the advantage that it echoes in there. Only 20 people signed up for a chance to win and they were divided into 2 groups of 10, a set for each staircase. Coach Kenna was the moderator of this competition.
They all decided to elect him as such because of the app he has that can read the decibel (db) level as seen in the pep rallies. This was how they measured which fart was the loudest. Each contestant only had one try to impress the judges with their loud farts.
Lots of people experienced smelling bad odors coming from these staircases and believed it to be the paint. In actuality, it was because of the farting competition and because one of the contestants had a minor accident where they pooped themselves while trying to fart.
The winner’s fart reached a level of 100 db. This fart almost broke the world record of 113 db held by a Herkimer Tort from Ripley, New York.
Taking home the prize, with the loudest fart at Cape Coral High School and beyond, was senior Jonathan Hood.
“I was training for weeks before the competition, so it is so nice to know that my hard work really paid off in the end.”
Hood has decided to train his farts so that he can attend competitive farting competitions and one day beat the world record.
The million dollars that he won is going towards his apartment for when he attends University of Central Florida. As nobody else wanted to room with him due to his unbelievable stench, he will be paying for rent all on his own.
To the other competitors, they must not fret, for the Cape High staff has decided to host more fundraising events that they will try to market nationally so they can raise money. This will in turn allow them to hold various and diverse competitions that will allow students a multitude of chances to win a million dollars and not have to stress about paying for College.
Some prerequisites that these scholarships require are a 3.0 GPA, no referrals, and an essay based on the competition. The contestants of this competition for example had to write an essay on why they love farting. They also weren’t allowed to eat for 12 hours to ensure they didn’t eat anything that would cause irregular farting.
